Treatment Philosophy

Are you ready to begin your journey to happiness?  As a trauma survivor my passion lies in empowering adults to heal from the impact of painful experiences.  Using a person-centered, trauma informed approach equips my clients to take an active role in the therapy process, working to discover their own strengths.    

I’m skillful in helping individuals achieve their therapeutic 

goals through promoting emotional regulation first, 

opening the pathway to process deeper issues.

Therapeutic Modalities

My trauma processing models are EMDR, Brainspotting and CPT (Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD).  I implement interactive, hands on techniques when working with clients of all ages to harness the therapeutic powers of play to resolve psychosocial difficulties.  I offer State funded treatment for problem/compulsive gamblers and affected family members (including children). 

My Specialties

Struggles are real but so is hope.  I specialize in working with those struggling with relationship issues, trauma survivors and gambling addicts; as well as affected family members of all ages impacted by problem gambling.  I am accepting new clients and will stand by your side as you walk through your journey to happiness.

About Me

Carol L Farmer, MA, LPC

My counseling career begin in 2013 following a 25 year career in accounting.  With my unique background I am able to relate to a variety of people.  In my free time I love hiking, paddleboarding and spending time with friends and family.  I look forward to meeting you!
